How we work:
Once your show is contracted with RotoFactory, we become your full service roto department. Think of us as if we were on the floor beneath you, or in the building down the street. Our goal is to make your outsourcing as transparent as possible.
RotoFactory has shop hours stretching from the early morning to late evening (depending on bookings). We are flexible, and will do whatever is necessary to assist you in making your shots final. If that means working around the clock to paint on targeted shots, we're here for you. We know the industry, we know the process, we know how to get the job done right.

RotoFactory Pipeline: How it works
The Bid and Award

Potential clients can either upload movie files to our secure FTP servers, or send frames on disk for our initial review and bid. From these movie files, we will present a bid based on the needs of the client. When the bid has been approved, the client can then upload or ship us encrypted DVDs, or encrypted FireWire drives that contain the remaining footage so we can copy them onto our secure file system.

The Process
Upon awarding of the bid, a RotoFactory lead will be assigned to your show. They will enter all initial information into the RotoFactory Client Access Portal. This proprietary web based interface can then be used by clients to assign their own artists or production personnel permissions to add shot requests, leave notes for RotoFactory artists, obtain contact information, or just browse the work in progress. Everyone will have separate secure logins, with separate permissions. You decide which show you want your artists to work on and with a click of a mouse; they can begin requesting work from RotoFactory on that show. Once work is completed, the RotoFactory Lead will indicate such in the Client Access Portal and by doing so will cause everyone involved on that shot from production to the artists to receive email notification that the shot is finished. Shots can then be delivered to the client through email (for splines), ftp, DVD, or FireWire drives.

Security
With over a terabyte of encrypted data storage, RotoFactory currently supports total encryption of all clients’ digital assets at every level of the pipeline. Although we don't have to worry about protecting millions of social security numbers, we do respect our client’s digital assets and take every measure possible to protect them from theft and unauthorized access. From our primary high performance raid storage on the file server to the artist's local scratch space on their workstation; we protect all of our data with 256 bit encryption.
