In 2006, CEO Eric Christensen broke away from Industrial Light + Magic (ILM) and opened RotoFactory. RotoFactory earned its chops by aligning itself as the best solution for outsourced rotoscoping and digital paint services.
The first two years of the company was primarily work from overseas outsourcing gone-bad.
RotoFactory has an extremely innovative and competent management team and the reputation of providing the best 2D digital paint and roto anywhere. With quick turnarounds, RotoFactory has always
delivered shows
on time.
RotoFactory is a seasoned company with over 50 feature films to its credit. Although initially seen as a "911" solution to other VFX companies, within the last four years RotoFactory has worked directly with major
studios on many feature projects. In addition to this, RotoFactory continues to assist and support a long list of highly dedicated companies in helping them resolve some of the toughest and most
complex paint and roto shots in the world.
RotoFactory takes on the role as either an extension of your company's 2D or 3D conversion department, or performs all tasks exclusively if desired. The process is seamless either way. RotoFactory has even developed
in-house software (RFCAP) to allow for the fluid flow of communication between facilities and artists during production. Over the past six years, RotoFactory, has provided the highest quality rotoscoping, digital
paint, compositing, and matte painting services for Columbia Pictures, New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, Walt Disney Pictures and Warner Brothers Studios.
RotoFactory continues to be owned and operated in the United States of America.
